Want to bring Give Youth a Voice Program to your school, community, youth group, parent group, gym or other group?

Give Youth A Voice Program is designed with schools, students/youth, parents, teachers and those that work with youth in mind. We have transformed the information that we collected from our focus groups of adolescents and combined it with the knowledge of our professional youth experts to create an interactive and educational speaking event for youth, parents, communities or companies that work with youth.

WHY??

When you think about middle/junior high school, what is the first thing that pops in your head?

For most it was the worst time of their school life and/or the most challenging. Many people remember middle/junior high school this way due to an excessive amount of bullying or mean kids, hormonal changes, growing pains, peer pressure, trying to understand or build their social identity, the pressure of transitioning from elementary or into high school and so much more. Kids can be perceived as mean at this time due to all the hormones rushing through their bodies and their brains not knowing how to perceive these changes so they lash out on whomever might be standing in their wake. With all these changes, hormones and pressure wrapped together it can create the perfect storm with no outlet.

Did you know?

  • According to the CDC: 1 in 5 Americans will experience a mental illness in a given year.

  • Suicide is now the 1st leading cause of death in individuals ages 10-14 in Colorado.

  • Rates of suicidal ideation are highest among youth, especially LGBTQ+ youth. In September 2020, over half of 11-17-year-olds reported having thoughts of suicide or self-harm more than half or nearly every day of the previous two weeks. From January to September 2020, 77,470 youth reported experiencing frequent suicidal ideation, including 27,980 LGBTQ+ youth. (Mental Health America)

Therefore, BCC Evolution is designing a program specifically for youth, those that work with youth and parents in collaboration with students and professional youth experts. The customizable speaking event will be designed for the needs of your group.

Learning objectives are based off the experts you choose for your group. Any of these experts can be plugged into your group based off the specific needs of what your group is experiencing.
